September 1st marks the day students return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, and to celebrate this day and gear up for the twentieth anniversary of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone film, Wizarding World have announced a ‘Back to Hogwarts’ global event, presented by the Harry Potter Fan Club.
The ‘20 Years of Movie Magic’ livestream will broadcast globally online on September 1st at 10:30am BST via the Wizarding World YouTube channel. Hosted by DJ and Harry Potter fan Yinka Bokinni, the stream will also feature a special guest appearance by Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films.
Fans will also be able to get involved and start their own journeys to Hogwarts via Instagram, by trying out the Platform Nine and Three-Quarters filter, available from 1st September from the Wizarding World Instagram channel.
With a focus on celebrating 20 years of the first Harry Potter film, new exclusive content will be released weekly every Wizarding Wednesday via WizardingWorld.com’s 20th Anniversary Hub, including games, quizzes and secrets from the crew behind the movies. The first release is a video by MinaLima, the graphic designers behind the Harry Potter films, sharing insights into how they created the iconic Hogwarts Letter.
Tune into the ‘Back to Hogwarts’ livestream at 10:30am BST on September 1st via Wizarding World on YouTube, or catch up with the stream later in the day on-demand.
