There are four major releases coming from K-pop girl groups in June, and they are set to be released by four of the biggest names in the business. There are possibly going to be other tunes and projects that will appear before July starts as well, but these bands made up of only women are among the most successful all-female vocal acts on the planet, and they’re only becoming more and more popular with each new drop.
Here are four of the most highly-anticipated K-pop releases coming in June.
June 2 – MAMAMOO – WAW
Just two days into the new month, MAMAMOO kicked things off right for girl groups emanating from South Korea with WAW, their eleventh EP and their first release of any kind in 2021. The four-track effort was presented to audiences with the help of the single “Where Are We Now,” which could quickly become another hit for the band that has been rapidly developing a huge global fan base.
June 11 – TWICE – Taste of Love
Talk about K-pop girl groups that are breaking out of South Korea and leaving their mark on charts all around the globe, TWICE is coming back in just a few days with Taste of Love, their milestone tenth EP. It wasn’t long ago the act made history on a number of important lists all around the world, and they could very well do just that once again in just a week or so. Impressively, Taste of Love won’t be TWICE’s only release this summer, as they have an album titled Perfect World they’ll be promoting in Japan next month.
June 17 – Brave Girls – TBA
It may not have a name just yet, but Brave Girls’ upcoming release is one of the most highly-anticipated releases not just of the summer, but perhaps of the entire year when looking strictly at K-pop. Following the impressive resurgence of their single “Rollin’,” which hit No. 1 on the South Korean charts earlier this year (despite the fact it was originally released several years back), the band is in better shape than ever to dole out something new. In fact, they recently scored their second-ever top 10 hit with “We Ride,” which may be featured on this as-yet-untitled project.
June 28 – LOONA – &
LOONA is yet another South Korean girl group that has already left their mark on the world, and their global domination is just beginning. The band scored a historic win on the American pop radio chart with their single “Star,” and chances are they’ll make another attempt at breaking into the U.S. market with the simply-titled &, which is coming at the very end of the month.
