The Most-Anticipated K-Pop Solo Releases Coming In June

The vast majority of musicians who achieve success as solo stars do so either after they make a name for themselves in a band or while they are still working as part of a group. The biggest solo releases coming in June from the K-pop world feature a healthy mix of those names who are now operating only on their own as well as those who are pulling double duty.

Here are four of the most highly-anticipated K-pop releases coming in June.

June 1 – B.I – Waterfall

B.I got his start as the frontman of K-pop boy band iKon, but now he’s left that group and embarked on a solo career, and there’s no looking back. The rapper and singer has been working incredibly hard in 2021, and it’s all culminating in his debut solo album Waterfall, which was released on June 1. Fronted by lead cut “Illa Illa,” the project is aiming to become his first top 10 on his own in South Korea.

June 3 – Ravi – Roses

Ravi is still a member of the boy band VIXX, though the group hasn’t released anything for several years, so it’s no wonder he’s been focusing so much on his solo career, which is taking off quickly. The rapper (another rapper from a popular band going out on his own) just dropped an EP titled Roses, and it’s surely going to become another hit for the performer, who is technically also a member of the VIXX sub-unit VIXX LR (with fellow VIXX member Leo).

June 7 – Ha Sung-woon – Sneaker

Ha Sung-woon has already found success as a member of both Wanna One and Hotshot (a group that just disbanded), and that’s not enough for him…and why should it be? For the past several years, he’s been working quickly to continuously share new music, and his fifth EP under his actual name is coming in just a matter of days. So far, all four of his short sets have become top five-charters in South Korea, so hopefully Sneaker is another future winner for the musician.

June 15 – BamBam – Ribbon

Thai singer BamBam is one of the seven members of highly-successful South Korea-based vocal band Got7, but now that the band is on something of a break (they are no longer signed to the company that was promoting their music), it’s a good time for the individual performers to work on their own material. BamBam’s debut solo EP Ribbon arrives on June 15.
