The latest addition to the award-winning franchise of strategy games, Total War: Pharaoh, is set to be released this October. A listing for the game appeared on the official website over the weekend, with many speculating that it would be a Saga title.
The game is set during the collapse of the Bronze Age in Egypt, where the Pharaoh has died, and Canaan and the Hittite empire are seeking a new leader. This is where you come in. As the leader of these great nations, you must face societal collapse, natural disasters, and invaders while protecting your people.
With the choice of eight Faction Leaders from three hubs, each with unique playstyles, you will have a diverse unit roster to choose from. The Egyptian hub includes Ramesses, Seti, Tausret, or Amenmesse. The Canaanite hub offers Bay or Irsu, and the Hittite hub features Kurunta and Suppiluliuma. With these leaders, you can become a fearless warlord, a diplomat, or a battle-hardened commander.
The game features biomes such as the fertile banks of the Nile and the arid deserts of the Sinai Peninsula and mountainous ancient Anatolia. These biomes come with their unique weather patterns that can impact the surrounding terrain and turn the tides of battle. Thunderstorms, sandstorms, and fire are just some of the foes you will face.
Pharaoh introduces the Campaign Customization feature, which offers a range of campaign options such as random starting positions for all factions, detailed resource settings, and the ability to add natural disasters. This ensures that no two campaigns feel the same.
Pre-orders for Total War: Pharaoh are available now, and early adopters will receive bonuses such as access to an Early-Access Weekend, the cosmetic packs Avatar of the Gods and the Heart of the Shardana, and unique skins for each faction leader.
The game will be available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, with cross-play between the two services. Three versions will be available at launch: Base Game, Deluxe Edition, and Dynasty Edition, with various DLC packs set to release as part of the content roadmap.
