Top Cannabis Company Curaleaf And Iconic Brand Rolling Stone Form Partnership

In a partnership that epitomizes synergy, Curealeaf, a top cannabis company, has teamed up with iconic music and pop culture brand Rolling Stone, to create a new cannabis brand. Known as Rolling Stone by Select (Select for short), the line will feature two product formats that include a pre-roll and “The Cliq,” defined in the news announcement as a “proprietary pod system.” The formats will include a number of strains and flavors such as a berry-forward “overdrive” sativa and a fruity “phaser” hybrid.

Rolling Stone by Select products will initially be sold in Nevada starting on June 11, 2021. They will be distributed through Select’s wholesale partners and Curealeaf dispensaries. Plans are afoot to expand distribution in the future, according to a spokesperson.

The partnership will also culminate in the creation of a retail space opening in Las Vegas in 2022. To get further details about this mysterious venture, consumers will have to wait as “more details…will be released in the near future.”

“Part of my job at Curaleaf is building brands people love,” said Curaleaf CEO Joe Bayern, in a public statement touting the new partnership and line. “Select is a brand built around the relentless pursuit of progress, and going to great lengths to create the best possible experience for our consumer. We’re honored and thrilled that the Rolling Stone team believes in our vision, our products and our people to create and deliver the highest-quality cannabis products and experiences in the industry.”

Gus Wenner, president and chief operating officer of Rolling Stone, echoed Bayern’s sentiments. “Music and cannabis go hand in hand,” he said. “We are thrilled to have found a perfect partner in Curaleaf who gives us the opportunity to design a product that elevates the music listening experience and celebrates the deep connection between the two.”

When asked to clarify the circumstances of the partnership and its evolution, Curaleaf issued a statement: “…Rolling Stone has never been afraid of recognizing cannabis as part of our culture; they’ve been doing it since their inception – far before any other media outlet did. Many publications still won’t even touch the cannabis industry. Select and Rolling Stone share many similar core beliefs, from the symbiotic relationship between music and cannabis, to legalization, to shedding light on and fighting against the injustices that the War on Drugs has caused – specifically to communities of color. Rolling Stone recognized that Select had the footprint, the quality standards and expertise to bring our shared vision to life…”
