Xbox Game Pass has always been a great value for gamers who want to try out a range of titles beyond the year’s biggest hits. Among the other small-scale games such as Citizen Sleeper and Signalis, Planet of Lana, arriving on the service tomorrow, stands out with its notable reviews in advance.
The game has garnered strong reviews ahead of its console-exclusive release on Game Pass May 23. GamesRadar gave the game a 4.5/5 rating, raving about its “fantastic variety of puzzle scenarios” and many “memorable moments.” Rock Paper Shotgun praised the “cinematic action sequences and environments” of the game.
If you’re unfamiliar with Planet of Lana, imagine a cinematic and thought-provoking platforming adventure game – with a brighter and more colorful environment – reminiscent of Limbo and Inside but with its own unique take on the puzzle-solving genre. Plus, the game’s gorgeous art style is worth noting.
Alongside Planet of Lana, Game Pass will be adding other indies, such as Cassette Beasts, a Pokemon-like game that allows players to fuse collected creatures, which drops on May 25, and Chicory: A Colorful Tale, which lets you draw and paint anything in the game, arriving on May 30.
Planet of Lana is coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S on May 23, and joining Game Pass Day One of release.
